City of Sheffield Swim Squad Top Award for COSSS Head Coach
Head Coach Russ Barber has been awarded the British Youth Coach of the Year, 2009. Russ attended the British Swimming Coaches Conference in Cheltenham in September, where he was presented with his well deserved award.
Russ said “This is my 20th season as a swimming coach now, so it was really nice to receive this award from my peers. It gives validation to all of the hard work and belief of the swimmers and the support from the Council, Club and SIV over the years. We are all pushing hard to be ready for the Olympics in 2012 now, so fingers crossed for the next 3 years!”
