A successful weekend for COSSS swimmers after the Barcelona training camp, with particular congratulations to Sam Budd who won Gold in the 1500m free.

The biggest championships of the domestic season saw medals for James Crisp, Ellie Faulkner, Becky Turner, Dan Cocking and Tom Sunter plus lots of finallists and semi-finallists. A fantastic performance by all concerned!

For a short period of time spectator tickets for the above, to be held at Ponds Forge on April 17th, are available for sale. Hurry, you need to place and pay for your order by April 1st!.

Age Group National and JO1 squads made the trip to Harrogate at the beginning of February.

This new event saw good success for a number of our swimmers.

Senior Elite Swimmers competed at the Burns Meet in mid January.

A new format for the championships saw Age Group and Senior swimmers competing over the same weekend. Matthew Johnson and James Crisp had an outstanding weekend setting new British records.

The club's Masters and Senior Age Group swimmers had a tremendous weekend at the British Gas National Short Course Championships returning 17 medals in total including 7 Gold and a new British record for the Women's 72+ years 4 x 50m Medley team.

A good end of season meet for many of our JO1, JO2, JO3 and Junior Development Swimmers.

Braxston Timm and Tom Sunter are at the European Junior Championships in Helsinki, with Braxston getting the added honour of being selected Team Captain.

The club finish second overall in the NER Bagcats with 'Girl Power' showing the way!

COSSS Swimmers hand over a cheque for more than £2000, earned as a result of a sponsored swim, to Weston Park Cancer Charity.

May 15th and 16th saw swimmers from JO1 and JO2 travel to Wear Valley, and Kate Clifton led the way as our swimmers produced some excellent performance.

Age Group National and JO1 swimmers made the trip to Leeds for the Sports Aid Gala, many medals were won with some great performances.

Sunderland was the venue for the NER Senior/Youth Championships over the weekend of May 1st and 2nd. Based on the results all of the COSSS relay teams should qualify for the National Youth Championships.

A trip to Beverley for the Dartes Minster Meet on April 18th resulted in a number of medals and speeding tickets for our swimmers.

COSSS swimmers have gained GB and England selections following the recent British Championships.

A number of COSSS swimmers took advantage of the chance to get National Qualifying Times.

Lucy Spencer swam for England Schools in an International Meet over the weekend of March 20th and 21st, coming away with a couple of medals!

Lots of medals, National Qualifying Times and PBs for COSSS swimmers at our own Level 1 Long Course Meet held over the weekend of March 26th to March 28th.

The biggest swimming event in the domestic calendar takes place between March 29th and April 3rd with places in the Delhi Commonwealth Games team up for grabs. COSSS has a number of swimmers taking part, come to the pool and give them a big cheer!.

The second weekend of the Yorkshire Age Groups was held at John Charles Pool in Leeds and Megan Hudson and Jenny Knowles led the way for COSSS as they became Yorkshire Champions in the 200m Breaststroke and 400m I.M.

Junior Development Squad will swim 21 Miles in memory of Keith Downing and to raise money for charity.

The first weekend of the Yorkshire Age Groups was held at Ponds Forge and COSSS picked up a large number of medals.

Senior Elite Swimmer Aynsley Heseltine comes away from the French Grand Prix with two silver and a bronze medal.

All our squads competed and enjoyed success at the Winter Yorkshire Competition.

A big contingent of swimmers travelled to Hull on October 4th for the Kingston Upon Hull Short Course meet.

Congratulations to Ellie Faulkner for her selection to the GB team to swim the FINA 10K Marathon next week. Ellie has also received the OCS Young Sports Person of the Year 2009 for the North East!

COSSS Head Coach Russ Barber has won the BSCTA Youth Coach of the Year Award. Congratulations from everyone at the club.
