2009 British Championships Report

The 2009 British Championships took place at Ponds Forge 16-20 March. Outstanding performances from City of Sheffield swimmers, Ellie Faulkner, Braxton Timm and Jack Dunn, have seen them qualify for the European Junior Championships. Ellie Faulkner(16) and Jack Dunn(17) both qualified in the 200 Freestyle and Braxton Timm(17) in the 100 Fly. The trio will be representing GB in Prague in July where the Championships are taking place. They join previous European Junior swimmers Max Partridge, Charlotte Broadbent, Rebecca Turner, and Chris Middleton as CoSSS swimmers that have represented GB at this level.

Max Partridge(19) and Rebecca Turner(16) also enjoyed success at the Championships.
Max qualified for the finals of the 100m and 200m Breaststroke in PB times. Rebecca qualified for the 100m and 200m Freestyle finals where Rebecca broke the Yorkshire Senior record in both events.

Competing for the first time since the Beijing Olympics, paralympic swimmer Rachel Latham won a bronze in the 100m Butterfly and managed a 4th in the 100m Backstroke.

A huge congratulations to all mentioned above!
