City of Sheffield Swim Squad Rotherham Metro A/B Grade
On the weekend of 22nd – 23rd July 2006 members of JO1 squad were joined by members of the Junior National squad for the Rotherham Metro AB meet. A good weekend was had by all the swimmers with some outstanding performances.
Over the 2 day meet our swimmers gained with 25 Gold medals, 18 Silver medals, 11 Bronze medals and 48 speeding tickets. The Gold medallists were Rebecca Hamilton, George Rix, Zoe Clayton, Mark Huggins, Aryan Abadian, Sarah Dudley, Amy Webster, Oliver Atkinson, Elliot Grady, Joe Faulkner, Danielle Hannan, Sophie Taylor, Haydon Thorp, Blake Shepherd and Tom Walker. Other medallists were Alex Watson Rachel Mallaband, Elise Bradley-Smith, and Hannah Taylor.
Stephanie Burns, Tom Lightfoot, Jessica Daly, James Dethick and Tegan Turner-Clark were among the 16 team members receiving speeding tickets.
To round off an excellent weekends swimming George Rix was presented with the Top Boy trophy for his haul of 5 Gold and 1 Bronze Medal.
