City of Sheffield Swim Squad Ellie Faulkner European Junior Champion
Ellie Faulkner, 16 year old Senior Elite swimmer, has won the Open Water European Junior Championships. Swimming against Europe’s best on July 4th in Porec, Croatia Ellie finished the 5km race ahead of the pack in 59.56 minutes. Massive congratulations to Ellie, this is a great victory. We are all very proud of her and it is a victory she richly deserves.
This continues the clubs successes in recent years at the European Juniors, with Chris Middleton, Max Partridge, Rebecca Turner and Jack Dunn all winning medals over the last four years.
The European Championships continue next week in Prague, where Ellie is competing in the 200m and 1500m Freestyle. Braxston Timm is also competing in the 100m and 200m Fly. Good luck to both of them.
