City of Sheffield Swim Squad Adwick Santa Splash
A really big thanks to all CoSSS swimmers who competed in last weekends Santa Splash Team Gala at Adwick Leisure Centre. Parents and swimmers alike made big sacrifices to compete for CoSSS considering the attractions offered on TV that night - X Factor final and Strictly Come Dancing...!!
We had very large team for the event, in excess of 40 swimmers, consisting of swimmers from a number of squads - JO3, JO2, JO1, Junior Development and Senior Masters. All swimmers did themselves and the club proud, finishing a very creditable 3rd in the overall team standing, behind the local Adwick Swimming Club. There was great team spirit and it was a joy to lead the team on the evening
It has to be said that our overall position would have been much higher had we not had so many DQs for faulty relay takeovers. Certainly something we need to work on before we compete in our next Team gala.
Specific mention must be made to our youngest swimmers who competed in the 9 years and under age group. They were all absolutely brilliant and deserve to be mentioned by name:
