Max Competes at the Tri Nations

As well as competing in the British Gas National Youth Championships in Sheffield Max Partridge (19) also swam in the British Tri Nations held at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on 1-2 August. The 40-strong British Gas Tri Nations team, men under 22 years and women under 20 years, are some of Britains most promising swimmers and they were facing tough competition from very strong Canadian and Russian squads. The British team finished 2nd in the points table with 184 points behind Canada with 272 points and in 3rd place were Russia with 157 points. Max competed in the 100m Breaststroke winning Bronze in 1.02.98. Well done Max!

Chris Martin, Head Coach to the British Team, said, talking about the top performers on the squad “It’s easy to speak of the medallists but credit needs to go to the whole team, many of whom have just come from the Youth Championships, who just keep performing. That’s the kind of attitude we need looking forward to London 2012”
