City of Sheffield Swim Squad Lizzie and Amy 10 Years Old Yorkshire Champs
Elizabeth Brook and Amy Treslove, both 10, swimmers with the City of Sheffield Swim Squad, were crowned Yorkshire Champions at the recent Age Group Yorkshire Championships. The Championships take place over three weekends in both Leeds, at the John Charles Centre, and at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
On the first weekend of competition Elizabeth won gold in both the 200m freestyle and the 400m freestyle. At Leeds, the second weekend of competition, Amy won gold in the 200m and 400m individual medley. Both girls were also part of the gold winning 10 year freestyle relay team along with Emily Longstone and Phoeby Finch. Between them, Elizabeth and Amy also won another 8 silver and bronze medals.
The 10 year boys relay team Sam Budd, Laurence Pickford, Jamie Damms and Jordan Damms also won gold. All these young swimmers are part of the Sheffield City Council Swim Training Scheme and their contribution to the final medal tally was fantastic. In total City of Sheffield won 6 gold, 22 Silver and 23 Bronze medals.
