Portsmouth Northsea Gala

Details
Last Updated: 07 May 2019

Over the Easter weekend, JO1 travelled down to Portsmouth for the “Easter Meet 2019”. These meets are a great opportunity for the group to bond and learn more about how best to prepare themselves for away competitions. This will be invaluable experience for when they start swimming international meets in their swimming career. Judging from the Twitter and Facebook posts, the team (looked after by Luke, Jack, Kerry and Roz) had a fantastic time, and raced extremely well.

Details
Last Updated: 26 April 2019

Day 5 was amazing as we had our first British Champion in Sam Budd over the 800 Freestyle in a super time of 7:59.72. Sam took the lead right from the start and never let go and with some excellent turns Sam put himself in a great position. On the final 50 he had to get back in 29 sec to go under the magical 8 min barrier and he did just that. Huge congratulations to Sam, what an awesome swim.

Kate came a brilliant forth in that final, really showing her raw speed superb straight arm technique. With the 100 freestyle tomorrow, we will be hoping Kate can keep that speed going over the double distance. Isobel Grant managed to improve from her heat swim in the 200 Fly final coming in eighth in 2:13.37.
