Laura Campbell almost needed a commemorative wheelbarrow to take away her 9 medals, 5 of which were gold. Next top performer for winning 2 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze, (to go with her 2 team medals and a hand in a GB relay record) was Bethan Corley – this included doing hardcore events like the 400/800m Free and 200m Fly. Jenny Starling is also a British Champ, for winning the 400m Free, and Steph Hackett won individual and teams medals too. Alistair Crawford was the sole male individual medallist this year with 3 silvers, as well as his relay involvement. With his help and our star ladies, we managed to get some mixed relay success, ably abetted by Rob Hyde and Simon Kerrigan- well done all.
Of course, it's not all about medals, and we showed real depth in our Masters section by also performing well in the men's 160+ freestyle and medley teams. Many thanks indeed to Tom Oldfield who very kindly stepped up to the plate at short notice and put in a great effort, ensuring we had teams to swim in those events. The full medals list was:

The next Masters event at Ponds Forge is the South Yorkshire Masters, on the 11th December. We would like to encourage as many Masters swimmers as possible to get involved. Entries were down last year, and 2 regional Masters comps were cancelled due to lack of entries. It really is a case of "use 'em or lose 'em". This event is far more low-key than the Nationals, so any shy retiring folk who don't like the bright lights of entering the Nationals should give it a try.
