British Gas ASA Age Group Nationals 2011

Day 1

The first medal of the Championships was won today, Emily Longstone (12) won Silver in the 100m Free in 1.00.77 having reached the final in 3^rd place. Cian Senior (13) reached the final of the 200m Breast finishing 10^th in 2.43.97. Also swimming today were Sam Budd in the 100m Back, Callum Hill in the 200m Breast and the Boys 4x100m Free Team (Luke Smith, Alex Haines, Sam Budd & Cian Senior).

Day 2

The second day of competition saw Sam Budd (12) win CoSSS squad their 2^nd medal, winning a Bronze in the 1500m Free in a fantastic time of 17.44.41. Reaching the finals of the 400m Free were Emily Longstone (13) finishing 4^th and Antonia Heseltine (13) finishing 10^th. Mollie Wood (13) swam in the 400m Free, Alex Haines (13) swam in the 200m Fly, Cian Senior (13) swam in the 200m IM and the Girls 4 x 100m Free Team were in action (Emily Longstone, Darcey Deakin, Mollie Wood & Isobel Grant) .

Day 3

A busy day today with four of our swimmers making it through to the finals. Sam Budd (12) finished 5^th in the 400m Free in 4.31.95 and Luke Smith (14), also in the 400m Free, finished 10^th 4.18.16. In the 200m Fly Antonia Heseltine (13) and Isobel Grant (13), in her debut Nationals appearance, reached the 200m Fly final. Antonia finished 8^th in 2.28.01 and Isobel in 10^th in 2.28.98. Others swimming today were Emily Longstone (12) in the 200m Free, Sam Budd (12) in the 200m Back, Lucia Wood-Bonelli (13) in the 200m Fly. In the 800m Free Antonia Heseltine (13) finished 9^th and Mollie Wood (13) finished 11^th.

Day 4

All the CoSSS swimmers swimming today swam into the finals! Natasha Davies (11) won the Bronze medals in her first Nationals in the 100m Breast in 1.21.88 – well done Natasha! In the 200m Free Sam Budd (12) finished 10^th in 2.15.45 and Luke Smith (14) finished 7^th in 2.00.11. The girls 4x200m Free finished 5^th (Emily Longstone, Mollie Wood, Antonia Heseltine & Isobel Grant).

Day 5

The day of the IM! Cian Senior (13) swam in to the finals in the 400m IM finishing 9^th in 5.06.51. Other swimmers competing in the 400m IM were Emily Longstone (12) and Sam Budd (12). The Girls 4 x 100m Medley Team (Amy Treslove, Annie Wood, Isobel Grant & Emily Longstone) swam a fantastic race to finish in 16^th in 4.47.09 after only qualifying for the Nationals as reserves – well done girls!
