The British Gas ASA Open Water Championships once again took place at Rother Valley Country Park. Sunday August 1st was the Youth and Senior Age Group Championships. Our Youth qualifiers, Gabi Hignett and Molly Grayson took part in the first event which was over 1750m. Gabi finished 2nd in 20.30.52 only just being beaten to the line in a very closely contested race! In the next event, the Senior Age Groups, swimming over 2000m, 19 year old Helen McRoberts won Gold! With a dominating performance she won the Championships in 22.23.96. Well done girls!

Monday 2nd August and it was the turn of the Age Group swimmers, who swam a course of 1500m and won two more medals for CoSSS. Antonia Heseltine won Silver in the 12 year category and Freya Mitchell won Silver in the 13 year old category. Also swimming were Adam Peel, Jenny Knowles and Mollie Wood.
After the three events CoSSS won joint Top Club with City of Manchester – well done swimmers!
