City of Sheffield Swim Squad

Results and Archive

This site is now the home of our Gala Results and article archives.

We launched a new website in early 2022.  Take a look here.

Scott Davison writes, "In his time he has introduced some great innovations, such as regular timed swims over different distances, which all swimmers can access through an on-line database, the infamous "tabata" sets, and combining land and water exercises into a single set, all packed into a single hour! Coaching Masters is not easy, with their wide ranging abilities, 60-year age span, differing aspirations, varying degrees of enthusiasm, and chronic injuries. It takes a special person to try and keep everyone happy, and more importantly, to keep things fresh. Andy has done a great job, and has sacrificed his own place in the squad to deliver this single-handed. He's also recently become ASA level-3 coach-accredited and we are sure that our loss will be Swansea's gain. All of the Masters squad would like to thank him for his hard work and wish him all the best in his new ventures."

Frazer Farren has stepped up to the challenge, and will share coaching duties with Emma Greenfield, who has previous experience of coaching COSSS Masters. We are sure they will be a great team and bring their own new ideas to the squad sessions.

"On behalf of City of Sheffield, I would would like to thank Andy for all of his hard work and enthusiasm over the years. He has been a valued member of our team, and I would like to wish him all the best as he moves on." Russ Barber - Head Coach
