Matthew Johnson, Lewis Coleman, Lucy Spencer and Braxston Timm were selected from COSSS and Russ Barber was selected as Head Coach. Unfortunately Braxston was unable to compete having suffered a serious shoulder injury.
The journey to the meet was very tough and the swimmers only had one day to recover from the flight and jetlag, which is a much shorter adjustment time than normal.
All three Sheffield swimmers gave a good account of themselves and were very competitive.
Highlights were Matthew winning bronze in the 800 free in a pb time of 8.06.78 (see photo) and the 4x200 free team of Lewis Coleman, Alfie Howes, Dan Wallace and Matthew Johnson winning gold against some very stiff opposition (see photo below).
Overall, the GB Team finished 2nd in the table behind a very strong Australian team, but team Head Coach Russ Barber was delighted with the team's performance given the challenging circumstances.
