Senior elite swimmer, Matt Johnson, was on impressive form again, setting a new British age group record in the 400 IM (4.17.41), and David Gregory broke two more Yorkshire records in the 100 back (56.08) and 200 back (2.01.11) - he now holds all three long course backstroke records!
Head Coach Russ Barber said, "I'm really pleased for and proud of the swimmers who competed at the Youth Nationals. It has been a long and hard season for them all, and the hard work, dedication and sacrifices they have made have paid off again. It's very easy in Olympic year, for the swimmers who didn't make it to be over-looked, but the results here show that they have a very bright future indeed...congratulations to all! Many thanks to Mark, Mike, Dave and Liz for doing a great job in looking after the team in my absence, as Becky, Ellie and myself are up in Edinburgh on the Olympic holding camp"
Lewis Coleman, Lucy Spencer and Matthew Johnson now move on to compete for GB at the US Nationals starting on 7th August in Indianapolis.
