The new season is already fully underway for Teamsteel. After a long few weeks working on skills and endurance that will be so important for the second half of the season. It was the ideal time for some sprinting and racing at our very own Teaspoon Gala on September 22nd.

The one day meet in which the winner of their final receives a teaspoon was again a huge success both from our fantastic team of volunteers, without whom we could not run any of our meets, to the swimmers showing of their racing skills. In total Team Steel raced to 23 gold, 25 silver and 27 bronze. Nearly all the squads were in action and it was great for the new JO3 swimmers to see how big the club is and to learn from the older swimmers what it means to be part of Team Steel. There is still a long way to go in the season and at this stage the importance lies on getting your skills right and building your endurance so when the winter months hit our swimmers will be able to put in some amazing training sessions ready for the long course meets from February onwards. However, it is very promising to see how well our swimmers step up and race even at this stage in the season. We also hope to see more and more of our wonderful volunteers help out at our home galas, the next being the Snow Frills meet on November 30th and December 1st.
